Anzac convoy, ultimate destination Gallipoli - Ernie's story 100 years later

Here's the way in which ABC television news covered the 100th anniversary of the departure from Albany in W.A. of the first Anzac convoy on November 1, 1914.

 

ABC reporter Claire Aird interviews author Mike Carlton and Craig Fotheringham, grandson of  Ernie Boston. 

 

A century ago 16 year old Ernie was the captain's messenger aboard HMAS Sydney which destroyed the German cruiser Emden in the first major naval action of the Great War.
